2004 - WATER
QUALITY
In the fall of 2002, the community reviewed health and quality of life data for Mason County, and selected water quality was the next priority issue. The quality of our local waters, marine and fresh, are critical to the economic health of the Mason County community. Shellfish industries are one of the largest and vital contributors to our local economy.
The goal of the Water Quality work group was to increase public awareness of the health of our local waters, and the relationship between various water systems. A Water Quality Report was produced, and taken been updated on a regular basis. The first report (download as a PDF file) was a stand alone report. The 2006 report was incorporated into the Mason County Data Series 2006, as Environmental Health.
