2006 – Mason County Homeless Plan: Phase Two

A more comprehensive Homeless Census was conducted in late January 2006. A copy of this report is downloaded as a PDF file. The results were used to develop the next phase of the Mason County Homeless Plan. Twenty-six stakeholder meetings were organized throughout the county from April to June 2006. each of these events provided an opportunity for stakeholders to learn the outcomes of the Homeless Census, and then talk about strategies to address needs in specific plan element areas (permanent housing, health care, employment and prevention). The plan required the communities to frame their strategies around four sub-populations: families with children, youth, chronic single adults, and non-chronic single adults. Summary of the Community Engagement Discussions can be downloaded. Phase Two of the Homeless Plan is also attached. On-going development of the Mason County Homeless Plan is conducted through the monthly Mason County Housing Coalition Meetings.
